Songs from a Distance Piano solo (late intermediate to advanced)
During the strange times in '20-21 I wrote new music about various moods. Since I got inspired by the poems of our City Poet Lisa Veldkamp, we started a new project: "Music Meets Poetry". the four most enjoyable new piano pieces of this project, have been published in Fall '21!
In de afgelopen periode '20-21 schreef ik nieuwe muziek over de indrukken die vanuit de wereld tot mij kwamen. Van de gedichten van onze stadsdichter Lisa Veldkamp raakte ik erg geïnspireerd en samen hebben wij een nieuw project opgestart: "Music Meets Poetry". In de herfst van '21 is er een nieuw pianoboek uitgekomen met de vier mooiste stukken uit dit project!
The Journey Piano solo (advanced)
"The Journey" is a pianosuite that consists of three individually composed movements, about a lonely world traveller who finally decides, after months of travelling the continents (“Being Abroad”) and a clear moment on a far away pond (“Rowing on the Pond”), to go home (“Going Home”).
"The Journey", een piano suite in drie delen over een wereldreiziger die na vele omzwervingen over de continenten (“Being Abroad”) en een bedachtzaam moment ergens ver weg in een roeibootje op een prachtige vijver (“Rowing on the Pond”), besluit om eindelijk terug te keren naar huis (“Going Home”).
